The Blue Ash Memorial Day Parade
The City of Blue Ash Memorial Day Parade and ceremonies will be the same as last year. Parade participants will form up on Reed Hartman Highway at Cooper Road. The parade will proceed east on Cooper, crossing over Kenwood Road, and ending at the
Cancer Support Community (formerly the Wellness Cancer Center) next to the Post Office. There will be a stage set up in the parking lot where dignitaries and the keynote speaker will sit. Our Color Guard will again lead the parade. We will have our float ready to transport our members during the parade.
If you are going to drive a vehicle in the parade, get there early. All parade units must be ready by 9:45 AM. It is suggested you arrive by 9 AM so you won't have to try to maneuver around other units. The parade starts at 10:15 AM.

TAPS ACROSS AMERICA
The National Moment of Remembrance was initiated in 2000 by Congress to stop and reflect on the importance of Memorial Day. Memorial Day has become the official start of summer picnics and swimming pools, instead of its original intent to honor the members of the Armed Forces who gave their lives defending this country. The National Moment of Remembrance is an attempt to bring back the true focus of the day. Baseball games will stop play, Amtrak trains will blow their horns and we will remember. Since 2020, Taps Across America has encouraged instrumentalists of all types to perform TAPS as a salute to all deceased service members. (www.tapsacrossamerica.org)
Performances take place at 3 PM on Memorial Day, throughout the United States with any instrument. Master Sergeant Richard Schnitz, USAF Retired and member of Post 630 will be playing taps. His first performance was in his driveway. He then moved to performing TAPS in front of City Hall to accommodate more people.
It is moving to Hopewell Cemetery in 2024 to accommodate more people in a more fitting space.
At 3 PM on Memorial Day, Dick will be playing TAPS along with thousands of others throughout the United States.
We invite you to take part by joining us in Hopewell Cemetery
on Montgomery Road across from the Montgomery Safety Center
